Weight comes out, lead times come down, and a part that has not been made for thirty years can be made again this week.
Where it earns its keep
Lightweight brackets, ducting and cable management in PA12 or PA11 nylon
Ground support equipment, tooling and templates
Obsolete spares, reverse engineered from the part in hand — see reverse engineering services
Wind tunnel and fit models in high temperature resin
How it gets printed
Multi Jet Fusion is the workhorse here for the same reason it is in automotive: isotropic nylon parts with no support marks, in a material with a known and published specification. Where heat is the constraint rather than load, SLA in a high temperature resin takes over.
Doing it yourself
Where the drawing has been lost, the route in is a scan rather than a caliper: our scanning service captures the part and Geomagic Design X turns it back into CAD you can edit.
Talk to an engineer, not a form
Describe the part and someone who prints these every week will tell you whether printing is the right answer — including when it is not. Send us the file, or call 0330 229 0175.
